Day 81 June 17th

Left Fairbanks this morning heading up Dalton HWY to Prudhoe Bay/Deadhorse. Plan was to stop In Wiseman which is almost halfway up the 418 mile long Dalton. The section of the HWY we rode is some dirt, some pavement and some crappy pavement. I liked the dirt sections better than the pavement because it was less prone to have pot holes. It had rained earlier so there was no dust.
Stopped at the Arctic Circle along the way. Most mosquitoes I have ever seen.
We stopped for the night in Wiseman at the Goldrush bed and breakfast. Clutch {Jim} the owner was interesting to talk with. Had a lot of local knowledge. There are 8 year round residents in Wiseman. Wiseman is home to the northern most American Legion post. Nice place to stop off for the night if traveling up the Dalton. Started raining just before we got there.
291 miles covered today.
